Once again, Heatons’ Men in Sheds were privileged to play host to a guest speaker during our regular Monday Zoom meeting. This week, John Ball from The Lancashire Wildlife Trust gave an illustrated talk on the plight of the red squirrel. Looking at the conservation efforts on behalf of this endangered species and a review of the reserves where they can be found, his talk featured history, habitat and the ongoing battle against the grey interloper.
John’s passion for the subject really shone through and kept us all entertained and, ultimately, informed on this delightful, native species that needs our help.
